TOWNSHIP: HeathREMARKS: A "rock city" (large blocks of rock that have weathered extensively along joint cracks, producing interconnected passageways, tunnels, and crevices); blocks of standstone and conglomerate of the Pottsville Group (Pennsylvanian age). The site is immediately north of the Kellersburg anticlinal axis and is surrounded by one of the Commonwealth's major natural gas fields.
Stahlman Roundtop (25), 2 miles south of Beartown Rocks, is a weathered remnant of basal sandstones of the Allegheny Group.
